METOCEAN DATA LINK
MetOcean Data Link is streamlining the integration and delivery of metocean data to empower marine stakeholders with timely, reliable, and actionable insights.
Real-time meteorological and oceanographic (metocean) data play a vital role in offshore operations. As metocean data collection across various offshore industries continues to grow, adopting standards and best practices is key to maximizing its value for a wide range of stakeholders and making data accessible and useful for all. This project is supported by the IOOS Ocean Technology Transition (OTT) program.
MetOcean Data Link Focus
- Launch a comprehensive engagement campaign with metocean data providers and consumers to gather input that informs system design and usability.
- Engage data providers and consumers to improve the cyberinfrastructure
- Expand and enhance existing metocean data cyberinfrastructure
- Test and improve cyberinfrastructure with multiple use cases
- Provide documentation and training
- Transition the cyberinfrastructure to a national operational system
